This course provides staff with the technical capacity to manage safety and security in a humanitarian organization, from an HQ perspective. Topics covered include:
Risk appetite – Risk assessments – Individual and Organizational Risk Profiles – Risk Mitigation Strategies – Safety and Security Plans – Contingency Planning – Travel Risk Management – Visitor Support – Managerial Responsibilities – Informed Consent – Trust, Influence and Credibility – Communication – Staff Training – Insurance – Working with Consultants
NOTE: This course does NOT cover Critical Incident Management. This is covered in a separate day-long course, which is always scheduled for the day following the Safety and Security Management 101 workshop.
