Gender Equality & Humanitarian Assistance: Gaining a Deeper Understanding
The Humanitarian Response Network and Canadian Red Cross are co-hosting an exciting full day event focused on advancing gender responsive and transformative humanitarian action. The World Cafe style workshop is expected to contribute to better understanding of best practice, through frank discussions about the challenges, failures and successes delivering gender responsive and transformative humanitarian assistance.
Please come ready to share your experiences and interact with a diverse set of colleagues from the humanitarian sector, who have strived to address gender equality and diverse needs among members of crises affected communities, including those with differing abilities, LGBTQ2S, elderly, indigenous and marginalised populations.
- Strengthened collective capacity to have a sustained, positive impact on the lives of women and girls, men and boys in humanitarian crises
- Partners and the sector as a whole to gain deeper understanding of the scope for gender transformative work in humanitarian environments
- Documentation of learning and potential action points for the future

Who can attend?
We are inviting your organisation to send up to two members of your team who have direct experience in humanitarian crises. We would like the event to include humanitarian actors from a variety of sectors in order to ensure a rich discussion with a multitude of perspectives.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?
Yes, however we will be limiting participation to two people per organization.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please contact email@example.com.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please consult the museum of nature website for detailed directions. Public transportation is highly recommended, and very accessible.
Parking is available at the Museum at a maximum day rate of $14.00, or $3.50 for each 30 minutes. Parking in the evening is a maximum of $5.00 (after 5:00 PM). There are approximately 200 parking stalls available between the East and West lots at the Museum available on a first come, first serve basis.
