This discussion paper was commissioned by CCIC in 2014, as part of the mandate of the Ad Hoc Public Engagement Working Group. The document reflects on what Public Engagement is, and what conditions are needed for effective CSO-Global Affairs collaboration, makes concrete proposals, suggests guiding principles, and provides examples of what good Public Engagement is all about, based on the experience of Canadian CSOs that have been doing it for decades.
