Position Title: Program Associate
Department: Constituency Relations Team (CORE) - Burlington, ON
Reports to: Program Coordinator Global Volunteer Program (GVP)-Canada
Status: Full-time (80%FTE), hourly
Salary Level: 9


Promote and contribute to the effective planning and management of the Global Volunteer Program-Canada.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implement the volunteer marketing and volunteer recruitment strategy
  2. Conduct interest telephone calls with prospective volunteers to determine their area of connection and interest(s)
  3. Create and distribute volunteer and/or partner support packages for approved volunteers or teams
  4. Equip assigned volunteers with fundraising and logistical resources through written and verbal guidance
  5. Maintain accurate volunteer database and files
  6. Coordinate the annual orientation and training conference in collaboration with other agencies and assist with the implementation of the volunteer orientation program
  7. Create workshop content and provide facilitation to church groups, school groups and volunteers
  8. Perform other duties as assigned

    9. Computer literate , proficient in database management and communication through social media
    10. Flexible and adaptable team player; proven skills in collaborating with others
    11. Able to maintain confidential information

    Education and/or Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  2. At least two years of work experience in a related area; volunteer management and/or project management, is an asset
  3. Experience working with different types of volunteers is advantageous
