RESULTS Canada is recruiting a National Public Engagement Organizer to join our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We are a national grassroots advocacy organization that is committed to creating the political will to end extreme poverty and to educating and supporting Canadians to become effective and powerful advocates for change.  We believe that a world free of poverty is possible, that proven solutions exist, and that together we can generate powerful results.

Reporting to the National Public Engagement Manager, the National Public Engagement Organizer will be responsible for supporting all facets of RESULTS Canada’s volunteer support and expansion efforts, including network coordination, communications, training, tracking and recruitment.


  • Support our existing grassroots volunteer network, through ongoing communications and training
  • Organize and facilitate virtual meetings and webinars to educate and inspire volunteers on RESULTS Canada issues and to support skills expansion
  • Track and report on volunteer activities and maintain a detailed database to monitor progress in volunteer actions and expansion
  • Support the development of public engagement tools and ensure on-line and web-based-materials are up-to-date and meet the highest standards
  • Support and contribute to the development of volunteer recruitment strategies, materials, and resources
  • Support the creation of new groups of advocates across the country
  • Identify community outreach opportunities, and at times participate in events, to facilitate recruitment
  • Provide logistical support for grassroots meetings/conferences as required (our bi-annual national conference, annual international conference in DC, and others)
  • Participate in community group meetings as required to actively engage and connect with volunteers
  • Take actions (political engagement, media work, letter-writing, etc.), alongside volunteers and in support of our campaigns


  • Diploma in a relevant field
  • Strong interpersonal and oral presentation skills – outgoing motivator and problem-solver
  • Must have very strong English written skills (strong written skills in French is an asset)
  • Experience as an advocate, campaigner, or public engagement organizer (in the field of International Development and asset)
  • Experience and relevant knowledge in volunteer recruitment, including promotion and marketing
  • Experience in building and maintaining remote relationships with volunteers
  • Respect for diversity and commitment to creating an environment that values inclusiveness and respect
  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills – project management experience an asset
  • Strong understanding of digital media platforms and tools (email, webinar, online recruitment and communication, social media, etc.)
  • Innovative and strategic – able to bring new ideas for volunteer support and recruitment
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and across a remote team
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, with 3 to 4 evening web-conferences per month and occasional weekend responsibilities
  • A sense of humour – and generosity of spirit is essential
  • Fluently bilingual (English and French) strongly desired

Conditions of Employment:

This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, with benefits and paid holidays.  Preference is for the position to be based at our headquarters in Ottawa.  However, strong candidates outside of Ottawa will be considered for remote work.
