SCOPE OF POSITION:
Oxfam Canada has a dynamic direct response program that includes direct mail, tele-funding, digital fundraising and face to face.  Working with suppliers, we have been able to grow our regular giving pool and are now ready to make a leap forward and expand our face to face program.  We are looking for an enthusiastic face to face specialist to lead the development and expansion of this program in major markets in Canada.   

This key leadership positon will report to the Director, Marketing and Fund Development and will work closely with the Senior Face To Face Manager from Oxfam International, the direct response team at Oxfam Canada and Oxfam Canada’s Face to Face suppliers.  This position is responsible for the overall operation, success and continuous improvement/development of Oxfam Canada’s Face to Face program. 

Located in Ottawa or Vancouver, she/he will work as part of the Marketing & Fund Development Team using best practises and innovations in the sector to maintain current markets and develop new markets for face to face donor acquisition. 

Some travel required.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed)

  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding Oxfam Canada’s face to face program including making recommendations, developing and implementing plans  to expand into new markets and for the use of innovations in face to face
  • Responsible for setting and regularly monitoring KPIs – sign up rate, average gift, weekly and monthly volumes of new donors and attrition rates.
  • Managing the relationship with the Face to Face team of consultants to ensure success in accordance with these set KPIs.
  • Develop and delivering new starter training program for face to face fundraisers.
  • Be field-based a minimum of two days a week to ensure a ‘hands on’ approach
  • Reporting in writing to the Director on a weekly basis on the face to face program’s performance related to set KPIs.
  • Ensure that site bookings and compliance issues are in line with local regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team leaders and fundraisers to maximize their performances and their development.
  • Develop private sites fundraising and a private sites fundraising strategy.
  • Develop strong relationships with staff in other departments to enable the face to face team to feel closely connected to Oxfam’s core vision and values.
  • Managing external vendor relationships related to face to face programs as needed.
  • Ensure the smooth running of a face to face operation, including budget management
  • Ensure complaint levels are kept at a minimum, and manage and respond to complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure fundraisers have a weekly updates that contains Oxfam updates and incentives.
  • Management of stock and equipment levels to support the face to face program
  • Management of agency/supplier F2F targets

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in face to face fundraising and a minimum of two (2) years directly managing a face to face team.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience running face to face fundraiser training sessions, including developing and implementing training materials and programs for face to face fundraising teams.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the management of face to face budgets.
  • Experience negotiating and managing face to face agencies and contracts.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding and developing face to face markets and programs
  • Successful track record of strong time and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret & explain results with a focus and drive on results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional influencing and persuasive skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with confidence, determination, resilience and good team working skills.
  • Adaptability and a ‘can do’ approach
  • High level of initiative to work independently and with a focus on daily results.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience planning work up to one year in advance
  • Experience with negotiations with face to face agencies
  • Ability to collate information from a wide range of well-defined sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Curious, enthusiastic and willing to innovate and adapt.
