Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) is currently recruiting for the following full-time position:  Director, Program Effectiveness and Resource Management

The Director, Program Effectiveness and Resource Management, leads a dedicated, enthusiastic and diverse team committed to a co-leadership model in order to achieve the following:

 

Program Effectiveness

Leads the development of a cohesive, results-oriented, program and project development, monitoring, learning and evaluation function globally. The program effectiveness work will support impactful and sustainable development and make evidence of learning and results available and accessible for all stakeholders.

Ensures the use of evidence from best practices to enhance the design and impact of programs and projects that CCFC supports.

Builds alliances and partnerships to promote centers of excellence within Canada and overseas.

Accountable for the introduction, development and adoption of new-to-CCFC methods and practices in project management and measurement to augment current project monitoring and evaluation.

Builds knowledge management culture through promotion of knowledge creation, its exchange and learning at program/project, country and organizational strategy levels; and through engagement in knowledge sharing and learning with external thinkers on issues that affect practice and are shaping development.

Collaborates with Senior Director, Policy and Government Relations and ensures technical capacity to support resource acquisition function.

 

Resource Management – Institutional Grants

Responsible for ensuring that CCFC has clear understanding and a firm adherence to the standards and expectations of our donors as per the contribution agreements and signed contracts.

Ensures grants are managed professionally and successfully.  Creates surge capacity, promotes agile working across functions and country offices during inception period of new programmes. High expectation that outcomes are achieved, reports are submitted that meet and/or exceed donor requirements, resources are managed, and all external and internal communications are documented.

 

Operational Alignment

Provides leadership for the operational alignment of efforts among key program streams within CCFC, including recurring program funding for community development and special funding for humanitarian assistance.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant graduate university degree in international development or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in international development, with at least five years’ experience in front-line community development and five years’ experience in a managerial role.
  • Subject matter expert related to monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, and knowledge management; and sound knowledge in at least one other of CCFC’s key development sectors of education, early childhood development, health, water and sanitation, capacity building, and humanitarian assistance.
  • Outstanding track record of directing multi-country projects with a wide range of stakeholders from various cultural settings.
  • Proven ability to develop staff capacity and achieve success through facilitating and empowering team effort.
  • Experience in strategic, operational and project planning and execution.
  • Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal); experience communicating and presenting across multiple levels including senior management, the Board, and external partners; ability to clearly communicate complex information; second language fluency in French or Spanish an asset.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to lead, network, collaborate, build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience of sound project management principles including budgeting and monitoring.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines and budget expectations.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Word, Excel, MS Project, and the Internet.
  • Ability to frequently travel nationally and internationally, often into harsh conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to CCFC’s Vision, Mission and Christian Values.
